As I have been reading about the high cost of living in Paris, I did some research and wanted to share a less expensive option with you.
I have to say, IMO, NOTHING compares to being in Paris (and I'm not changing my mind), but after watching this video I was pretty impressed with Languedoc-Roussillon (I had not ever heard of this area before).
The area has a lot to offer.
Please take a look at the video.
According to AARP; The once remote, Languedoc-Roussillon region is now just three hours from the bright lights and bustling energy of Paris via high-speed train.
The area is steeped in history and art. Languedoc-Roussillon is also a destination for the outdoor crowd with picturesque hills and beach along its Mediterranean seashore.
Some Reasons to love it:
* Climate: Mediterranean—hot and dry summers; cool winters
* Cost of Living: Not cheap, but a comfortably frugal life can be had for $30,000 a year
* Heath Care: Excellent. (French health care has been named the best in the world by the World Health Organization)
All I can say is "magnifique!"

C'est une ville que je pourrais au moins plaisir à visiter.
Looks like a nice region. So is it considered part of the French Riviera? Or near there. If so, then $30k per year to live down there isn't bad.
not sure
AND, Languedoc is a producer of great wines! All the better!
yes the closer to "le vin" the better
