so you want to move to paris

Have you ever dreamed of living in Paris? If you have, you are like so many others who have been captivated by the beauty and charm of this romantic city. For most people this feeling is fleeting. As soon as they return home, or at least within a few weeks, they snap out of it and come to their senses. For some of us however, those thoughts not only linger, but grow stronger. The question is, how to make it happen.

There are so many reasons that a person might want to move to Paris that I'm not even going to speculate. What I will say, is that the number one reason these same people don't actually make the move, is fear. I mean, I absolutely understand it. It's a giant move to a foreign country with a people and a culture very different from ours. I was afraid myself, but the best way to overcome fear is to arm yourself with knowledge.

There are basically 2 things which need to be done anytime you are thinking of moving.
No. 1 - decide where you want to move (only you can do this)
No. 2 - do your research (I will do the majority of this for you, organize it neatly and make it available to you with a click of your mouse here on my blog)

The best way to maximize your chances of having a wonderful life in Paris is to fully prepare yourself before you decide make the move.

I've decided to make my move in 5 years, so I'm calling this my 5 year plan to move to Paris. Of course you will have to determine your own time line. Five years is what works best for me because I am planning to retire around the same time.  No matter what your date, the amount of research is the same (except maybe if you're 21, can pack up at a moments notice and don't care where you sleep).

I'm not a travel expert and this blog is not just for people who are moving to Paris. It is for people who plan to visit or can only dream of visiting. It is for people who may want to rent or buy real estate in Paris. It is for people who want to learn about the history and culture, the fashion and the art. It is for anyone who loves Paris and it is especially for my dedicated friends who are kind enough to follow me around from blog to blog, read my words, hear my voice and share in my hopes and dreams!
