Hello Paris in May

Good bye April
 Hello Paris it's May!
While there is still a chance for rain in May, it is one of the BEST months to visit Paris! You have a better than 50/50 chance of having great weather too. Nature is all abloom and the locals are coming out of their winter hibernation.

There is some very good entertainment in town during May.  One of the biggest events (if you like music) is the St Germain Jazz Festival.  For 2012, festival dates are May 25 - June 3rd. "The Rive Gauche swings as local and international musicians perform at Paris' Saint-Germain-des-Prés Jazz Festival. Playing everything from boogie woogie to blues, free concerts are held in Saint-Germain square with ticketed concerts taking place in local libraries, cafes and hotels."

Official dates for 2013 have not been published yet.

May is also the month for Museum Night. This is a night when you can go to any of the museums for free. They are open until midnight.  The exact date varies from year to year but look for Museum Night around mid May.

I hear the biggest drawback for visiting Paris in May is that -- YOU won't be the only tourist there.  I actually witnessed this first hand when I visited in 2010. I was there right after Memorial Day and it was tres CROWDED.  June is crowded as well and July has unbearable heat, so I'll take my chances on May.
